    AN-SOF ANTENNA SIMULATOR
---------------------------------------------------

Microstrip patch antennas with capacitive feeding have been key in the development of the cell phone industry. This way of feeding compact antennas, for instance PIFAs, has made it possible to cancel out the probe reactance and simplify the matching network.

Here is a model of a capacitively fed patch that fits very well the measured results for the input impedance reported in the paper by G.A.E. Vandenbosch and A.R. Van de Capelle, “Study of the Capacitively Fed Microstrip Antenna Element” (IEEE Trans. Ant. Propag. 42, 12, 1994), one of the first publications on this subject.
